Capital Economics expects in the coming week from emerging market central banks:
“[At] scheduled monetary policy meetings in Thailand (Wednesday), the Philippines (Wednesday) and Taiwan (Thursday). Interest rates will almost certainly be left unchanged in Thailand and the Philippines, but we are expecting a cut in Taiwan.
We think the National Bank of Hungary will leave its three-month deposit rate (Tuesday) on hold at 1.35%, although the weak inflation outlook means there is a risk of a small cut.
Elsewhere, we expect the Turkish central bank to leave its official interest rate (Thursday) unchanged.
We expect the Bank of Ghana (Monday), the Central Bank of Kenya (also Monday) and the Central Bank of Nigeria (Tuesday) to keep their respective key interest rates on hold this week.”
